Firefox 3.1 Shiretoko
July 30th, 2008 by YillbWorking on something new and I wanted to use the CSS property box-shadow to add some simpler non-image dropshadows. You can view more at CSS3 dot Info. And while I do have Safari installed, it isn’t my primary browser and so knowing that there was a 3.1 release of Firefox gearing up I managed to find out that it was available to download, named Shiretoko it offers some near features.
Heather Wilson, New Mexico Congresswoman is an Idiot
July 25th, 2008 by YillbWatching Hardball on Thursday, July 24, Heather Wilson, a Republican from New Mexico kept bringing up the Brits as the example of Europe…
There are over 40 countries in Europe! Now while it may be a little difficult to get an exact number (Aneki lists 45, Wikipedia has a 47 number, Mahalo defines it at about 50, due to the border with Russia.) I think we can all agree that there are more countries/nations in Europe than just the United Kingdom.

July 20th, 2008 by YillbSo E3 2008 has come and gone and I really could care less what with not really having time to worry about games that aren’t coming out yet, especially when I have rather large backlog of games that I still need to get to. However it seems that Bizarre Creations finally got around to making the sequel to the best game on Xbox 360, ever; Geometry Wars 2, and it will be released August 6.

July 14th, 2008 by Yillb
Putting the reality of the horrors of the world, particularly those revolving around genocide, and the fact that this individual may in fact be responsible, this has to be one bad Monday to start your week off: to be charged with genocide. It’s a big thing to wake up to.
President of Sudan, Omar al-Bashir has been charged by the International Criminal Court for genocide in Darfur; the first time that a sitting leader of a country has been charged with the crime.
CNN exclusive: ICC prosecutor on Darfur chargesWe request a warrant for the crime of genocide – 6a, b, and c – basically massive rapes and the condition of 2.5 million people – in addition we charged him with crimes against humanity and war crimes.
It’s nice to see an effort to do something about these terrible acts; hopefully this guy won’t be let off the hook by hiding in his country.
Stuff for Sale!
July 9th, 2008 by YillbSo, recently we’ve received some leftover office supplies that were just left behind by someone. We don’t know what to do with them. The owner hasn’t come back and nobody here wants to take them home. Of course throwing them out would only be a waste, so it was decided to try and sell the items with no home.

Totally Awesome Ninja Abraham Lincoln: Unforgotten Realms
July 6th, 2008 by YillbAfter watching a Zero Punctuation video about webcomics, a trailer was played afterward showcasing a animated comic focusing around a Dungeons and Dragons style roleplaying game between two friends, one of which tried to choose a lumberjack as a class, rolls with duel numb chucks, and has a beard; the other is a wizard without a monocle. This is the story of Sir Schmoopy and Eluamos Nailo.

July 6th, 2008 by YillbSo in going over a new site, my style of not opening links to external sites in a new window came under criticism due in part because of my shared belief of letting the user make up their own mind with dealing with links, was called out when the user doesn’t know how to use their browser. I have to believe that once they learn how to use their browser, and it gets beaten into their minds that every link will open in the same window, that they’ll be able to make the choice as to how to open the link.

July 6th, 2008 by YillbThe guys over at the Flex Show have released: The Flex Show - Fifteen Minutes With Flex - Episode 1. The first episode covers a basic, Hello World Flex application, and covers the program and the basics of using the Flex program and deploying it to a server; simple stuff but a good refresher for someone with basic knowledge of Flex, and great for people looking to get into Flex. I can’t wait to see what they cover next.
You either watch it online or download it. Have fun, enjoy and thanks for the great learning assets.
Take the Citizenship Test!
July 6th, 2008 by YillbMSNBC has a new quiz posted on it: Do you have what it takes to become a citizen? Using 20 ‘hard’ questions that potential new citizens may face, it tests your knowledge of American history and people. Needless to say it might be that shameful cliche of new Americans knowing more than people who lived in America all their lives. I only scored 80%.
Read the rest of this entry »65-80%: Hey, you may make a good citizen yet! Look at your wrong answers and a little revision should do the trick.
85-100%: Welcome to the United States! (And, truth be told, you know more about this great land than most Americans.)
