Joe McCarthy, met Michele Bachmann, Republican Congresswoman of Minnesota, and the New Communism: Anti-Americanism
So last Friday there was quite an interview between Michele Bachmann, a congresswoman from Minnesota and Chris Mathews on Hardball that went from Barack Obama’s association with Bill Ayers to calling on the media to look into if there are elected members of Congress that have anti-American views.
It’s not every interview that you get a currently serving member of Congress to channel Joseph McCarthy who wants the media to expose elected members of the Congress who are anti-American.
From liberal to leftist to Anti-American; I guess it’s conservative to rightist to Pro-American, because if she is a Republican and Republican’s are conservative they must be pro-American.
So Obama went to a church with a pastor who didn’t say nice things about America – I guess Obama shares the same views. Obama severed with a sixties terrorist on an education board and he must share have the same views. Obama knew a crooked business guy; he must have been in on his crimes.
In other words: the Democratic nominee for President of the United States might have Anti-American views, and elected members of Congress, who Bachmann serves with, might also have Anti-American views.
Michele Bachmann doesn’t want to classify certain regions of the country as pro or anti-American. Bachmann doesn’t know if all liberals are anti-American. Bachmann doesn’t actually know if anyone in the Congress has anti-American views; but she is more than willing to say that Obama has anti-American views because over the course of his life he knew others with anti-American views.
What is ultimately sad about this is that either this congresswoman is either a) been given talking points and doesn’t know what she is talking about, or b) actually believes what she is saying – either way why would you want someone to serve in the Congress who is more than willing to say that her colleagues are anti-American?
MR. MATTHEWS: What about people like Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, the liberals you were mentioning a moment ago? Where would you put them? Would you consider them anti-American as well?
REP. BACHMANN: I would consider them to have –
MR. MATTHEWS: Are they anti-American?
REP. BACHMANN: — far leftist views. I’m not going to say that they’re anti-American or pro-American.
While she won’t actually say whether or not Nancy Pelosi or Harry Reid is anti-American, she won’t say that they are pro-American. What is wrong with you congresswoman? Is this what Americans need to hear - whether or not an elected member of Congress might have anti-American views?
Forgot being a terrorist; now you are either just pro-American or anti-American and your views must be exposed to the light of day; with Michele Bachmann leading the investigations because she is the only one who can see this great threat to our country.
The thing is that no answer that Obama would give would every satisfy Michele Bachmann – she and others like Sarah Palin and maybe even John McCain want nothing less than for Obama to admit that not only was he good friends with people who are anti-American but to say that he shares their views.
If you actually watched the last debate, Obama answered the Ayers charge – so if you’re not willing to take him at his word then all you want is something he can’t give you.
It’s nice to know that the congresswoman is more than willing to toss people into ‘Pro-America’ or ‘Anti-America,’ columns as long as media does a “expose” which she says American’s would love.
Yes, Americans love when you question others’ views and patriotism and character instead of talking about the issues that are important to them; as we can see over several weeks of polling that this strategy has been working for John McCain very well…
Good luck with; please share that view with your other Republican colleagues and pro-American members of Congress to make sure that the Democrats get a bigger majority in the House and get the magic 60 seats in the Senate.
The great thing is that she is up for reelection in Minnesota against Elwyn Tinklenberg, so if you like to help send a message to Michele Bachmann that her view of the country is wrong and maybe even dangerous or just plain un-American, you could send a little contribution to her opponent as others have done.
The transcript wasn’t live on the Hardball site yet, but another site has the interview up now.
