Hillary Clinton: Change the Rules for me!

So when this whole Democratic nomination process started it was pledged delegates that would determine the nominee. After it became clear that Clinton wasn’t the inevitable nominee and that she and Barack Obama were splitting the pledged delegates it would end up falling onto Super Delegates to determine the nominee. Obama said they should vote with the majority, or how their voters had voted, Clinton said they should vote their conscience and nominate the most electable.

Well since the first Super Tuesday those Super Delegates have been moving to Obama, so Clinton needed a new score to go by: popular vote. Never mind the fact that not only do the Democrats not choose their candidate by popular vote, but that isn’t how we pick a president. The fact is the person with the most votes doesn’t always win.

But as states continued to vote and Clinton hadn’t actually gotten a majority of the popular vote it became clear that the nominee should be chosen based on who (me [Clinton]) had won the “big” states, never mind those “small” states that Clinton stilled campaigned in. But that argument didn’t fly; what are the chances the Obama won’t win California or New York, never mind whether or not Clinton could win Texas.

The next score card is a modification of the last one focusing on the Electoral Votes that those “big” states have. Clinton has “won” more Electoral Votes than Obama so she must be the better nominee…hasn’t worked.

Now with only three more elections left it is back to the popular vote but maybe even more sinister is not only saying that I [Clinton] should be the nominee because of some other score but that original score, 2025 delegates to become the nominee is actually 2210. Why? Florida and Michigan. So after not winning by the original rules Hillary Clinton has decided that she needs to raise the needed delegates to get the nomination, just as Barack Obama is within 70 delegates of getting it.

I can’t believe that Hillary Clinton can possibly think that just because of her name that she can change the rules, change the scores, and change the goals all out of some grand delusion that she should be president of the United States. If it wasn’t so calculated and so-like a politician it would actually be sad.

As a last note, I tried to post my question on the blog at Hillary Clinton dot com, twice; neither time resulted in the comment being posted. After reading some of the comments left by people there I’m simply surprised by the lack of free speech being allowed. It is a blog. It is suppose to be about discussion.
