Music in John McCain’s TV Spot Sounded so Good, ’tis from a video game is why

John McCain’s new anti war campaign ad, Safe featured a very simple message that was only reinforced by the black background and still images and the song playing that sounded the part of the I know the horrors of war and would never take America into a war that it didn’t have to fight.

However where did this moving piece of music come from? Some artist tiring away on merger earnings to put his ideas to notes? A movie? A campaign staffer who knows how to compose? Nope, none of the above; how about a video game called Medal of Honor: European Assault. Thus showing that the music in video games can be just as powerful and moving as any other.

Of course there is more to this story then just the fact that video game music was used in a presidential campaign spot, like the composer being a Barack Obama supporter. However Christopher Lennertz doesn’t own the rights to the music so it wasn’t his say. But you can read what Lennertz has to say over at Game Politics who wrote the piece that lead me to read about it on Joystiq, here.
