CNN has put Obama Over 270 Electoral Votes
On Electoral-Vote.com, for October 10, there was a small summary of a story posted by Chris Bowers about how MSNBC, CNN and other ‘big’ news groups haven’t put Obama over 270 electoral votes, despite leading in battleground state polls; maybe out of fear of pro or anti agendas being tossed to them.
Well, today, October 15, 2008, CNN has put Obama over 270 electoral votes with the state of Virginia’s 13 electoral votes.
The last debate is a little more than an hour from now and tomorrow we will be 20 days from Election Day. Obama is leading the national polls, the battleground state polls, the RNC has pulled out of Maine and Wisconsin, and earlier this month McCain pulled out of Michigan leaving only my home state of Pennsylvania left of the Kerry states for McCain to poach; while seven of the Bush states are all up for grabs for Obama.
Go play with CNN’s electoral map. Unless you give all seven of the battleground states to McCain then he can win – 7 for 7! Contrast that to Obama, win Iowa and just win Nevada – tie! Win Colorado and he’s over 270. So unless he loses Pennsylvania, or something happens in Maine or Nebraska with their split allocations, Obama has a one state out of seven-path-to-victory. Good odds – good betting odds.
